Core Values
THE GOSPEL
The word gospel means good news. The good news of Jesus Christ is that he, being the sinless Son of God, was crucified in the place of sinners, rose victoriously from the grave, and offers forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God to all who would turn away from their sin and rely on his substitutionary work.
EXPOSITIONAL PREACHING
The Bible is God's Word to us. His Word sets the agenda for the church. Therefore, the main staple of our preaching ministry will be verse-by-verse exposition. This is one of the best ways to learn the Bible for yourself, and it also ensures we are teaching everything the Bible teaches.
CHRIST-CENTERED WORSHIP
At Grace Life Church of Richland Center, our desire is to glorify Jesus in all we do. That certainly includes the songs we sing when we gather. We intentionally choose songs that will not only stir our affections but will also cause us to glimpse the glory of God in the gospel of Christ through the work of the Spirit.
BIBLICAL COUNSELING
God’s purpose for the church is that pastors would equip the saints to “do the work of the ministry.” In “speaking the truth in love” to one another, the church becomes like Christ (See Ephesians 4:1-16). Therefore, our desire is to equip the church with the tools necessary to bear one another’s burdens and encourage one another in faithfully following Christ. This is the essence of biblical counseling.
MEANINGFUL CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
The church is meant to be more than a place to come and hear a sermon once per week. It is meant to be a community, a family of Christians united in Christ who have covenanted together to protect doctrinal truth, love one another, serve one another, pray for one another, hold one another accountable, and follow Christ together.
